Global Recordings The Challenge of Vanuatu Did you know there are over 100 languages in Vanuatu? Come & hear how GRN plan to tell the story of Jesus in every one of these languages.
Saturday 14th March Eastwood Baptist Church, 3 First Avenue, Eastwood NSW
Even though more than 80 percent of the Vanuatu people follow Christianity to various degrees, belief in sorcery, black magic and animist traditions are deeply rooted. Most people maintain firm belief in the power and presence of ancestral spirits. For many, Christianity is little more than a veneer over deep rooted cultural and religious practices.
In this presentation, the Rogne and Dillon families will share about how they hope to provide the people of Vanuatu with Bible teaching in their own language. There are over 100 languages in Vanuatu, and GRN is partnering with local churches to provide resources to those who need it most.
The afternoon will include refreshments, but that's not the main reason to come!!

Journey in Mission (CMS) Church planting like rabbits........ Journey in Mission is a regular event run by CMS Qld for followers of Jesus interested in current cross cultural mission issues. It's always a great evening!!
Thurs March 19th Hope Central auditorium, 126 Barry Parade, Fortitude Valley QLD
First JIM of 2015! A look at the Church Planting Movement
The 1990s saw the emergence of numerous movements of gospel-poor peoples to Christ in places once hardened to the gospel. These movements were later described, by missiologist David Garrison, as Church Planting Movements (CPM), "a rapid multiplication of indigenous churches planting churches that sweep through a people group or population segment".
As Western Christians we are often sceptical and cautious of these kind of reports. But what does it look like on the ground? Might there be lessons that can help us grow and multiply churches here in Australia and overseas?

Wyclife Bible Story-telling Workshops Over half the world are oral learners. Learn how to harness the power of stories and reach people in a new, vibrant way.
Feb, April, Oct & Nov Various Locations - see website QLD
Over half the world are oral learners, learning best through stories and discussions, not by reading and studying. Stories are somehow able to bypass our mental filters. They allow us to imagine things that don?t apply in real life. When we hear a story, the normal rules are suspended, and our imagination takes over. Over a weekend, learn how to craft tell and teach bible stories that are simple accurate and memorable.
This seminar will help you harness the power of stories and reach people in a new, vibrant way. Bible storytelling is a skill that will help ordinary Christians in three ways: evangelism, biblical knowledge and disciple making.
Seminars for 2015 are on 5-8 February, 24-27 April, 2-5 October and 26-29 November
