To meet Charlie is to meet a passionate woman. As she hands me beautifully crafted cushions, throws and handbags, her love of fashion and her love for the people she works amongst every day, is palpable. As she shares her vision to revive the traditional craft techniques that once sustained a community, but which now are almost lost, I catch her passion!

Charlie graduated in fashion design from Nottingham Trent University, worked in fashion PR and as a fashion editor and now she and her husband Steve are missionaries in a sub-Saharan country.  Her vision is (more…)

People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas.

Failure isn’t fatal – you can start again in the New Year!

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.

Imagine Mission Teams with only Evangelists and Church Planters

The phrase Behind every great man there is a great woman is well known. In mission terms it could be written as Behind every effective mission team there are effective support workers.  Not everyone is called to be a full-time evangelist or church planter.  There are many important support worker roles in which people are needed.

When we think of missionaries, it is often those with high profile roles that come to mind – evangelists, church planters, Bible teachers and medical missionaries.
However, God doesn’t equip everyone in these areas. (more…)

As one interested (and at times involved) in the work undertaken in reaching out to children/teens in crisis, I do read a number of magazines and books relating to the topic.

I recently came across a good book…“True Grit…Women Taking on the World, for God’s Sake” [Auth: Deborah Meroff, 2004; Pub: OM Authentic Media, Secunderabadn India], and it’s quite an eye-opener… (more…)
